I would dissolve the Monarchy problem is what can be put in it's place. I wouldn't mind them staying in power if only there wasn't so much inequlity between the ruling elite and us. I certainly am not at all excited about one of their new off springs arriving on the scene how is this event going to help the common people of this country is he going to perform wonders and transform our lives or will he grow up to play polo and fly a helicopter now and again in between opening up new buildings.

Why do people clap and cheer at them how are they bringing pleasure? Why are they going off on holiday for a couple of months to Scotland when most people only get to go for a couple of weeks if that? Why can they have water sprinklers on in their magnificant gardens when some people can't afford to flush the toilet?

Any more for any more?

Why can't they go back to the old way of charging for the magazines

i'm just curious, and i know i always end up with an answer.. but why can't the society go back to its old way of charging for the magazines.

i know this is probably easier said than done.

but if they were keeping a float in the past but are sinking now on the donation model, then is seems obvious charging for the mags was the better way to go.

In the 1950s and 1960s the magazines and had a certain depth about them and I suppose the Society had to write them like that in order for publishers to "place" them for a donation which really was another term for selling but in this day and age the Watchtower and the Awake should now not be called magazines and asking for a fee at the door for them would be a joke.

Which age group are they aimed at anyway ?

I used to compare the mags with a humorous newspaper back then called Billy's Weekly Liar which if memory serves cost a few pence the difference was you got a few laughs in the BWL but only got the lies from the Watchtower.

the woman is clearly a nervous wreck, and very easily offended.. if this is her reaction to caleb forgetting his manners, i shudder to think how she will cope if she ever finds him doing drugs.. .

The next episode sees Caleb a few years older telling his mom that he wants to go to colllege and get a good education in order to help other people . This really freaks her out," spare the rod and spoil the child she shouts don't you know Caleb Jehovah is asking please do not get a higher education he would much prefer it if you got rid of all that nonsense from out of your head. Well our glorious leaders up in Brooklyn wouldn't like it which is more to the point and we must obey." At this point her voice turns into a dalek Obey !Obey ! Obey ! exterminate ! exterminate ! This in turn really gets Caleb frightened out of his wits begging for mercy with his hands clasped together.

I think the Borg should start sending out DVDs aimed at mothers on how to react to their children correctly and start by explaining how to put eye balls back in their sockets first.

If I was Calebs Mom I would ask him first quietly if he was getting hungry after he requested food then I would sit him down make him a sandwich then explain the please and thank you bit without throwing a wobbler. The kids hungry for goodness sake have a bit of compassion woman and while you are at it give yourself some nosh you look like you could do with a bowl of cornflakes.

Judging by the state of the bread if I was Caleb I would put it in the bin along with Sparlock.

it seems to me the witnesses are missing the point about the bible nature and god.

nowhere has it been shown that god hits back at mankind except in mythology .it seems to me that when mankind goes against the laws of nature it's nature that hits back to readjust the harmony .. all the nonsense about the battle of armaggedon is exactly just that nonsense either god through nature ,or if you don't believe in god, the laws of the natural order of things will fix it if mankind over steps the mark and gets it wrong.

therefore it's up to humans to work in harmony with the natural world.. just a thought.. .

Friend gets "scriptural divorce" over wifes transgressions before they got married...

so i have a friend in a congregation in new jersey who recently called me to tell me that he got a divorce.

nothing surprising there at first but it is the fact of when it happened.

How can it be a transgression against her husband she was only checking out the goods on the shelf first before marriage . I nearly always squeeze the product before purchase just to check for freshness you understand I don't want anything out of date or malfunctioning.

Yes I remember thinking at the time of Baptism was I dedicating my life to the men at Brooklyn? the thought kind of lay there uneasily in the back of my mind. It just didn't feel right somehow but a lot of things never felt quite right I just couldn't figure out what was wrong until much later.
